Panda Li

Physiotherapist & Partner

Panda is an Australian / Chinese Physiotherapist who came back to Hong Kong in 1998. She graduated in 1996 with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy (La Trobe University) from Melbourne, Australia and a Graduate Diploma in Ergonomics and Injury Prevention (University of Queensland) Australia in 2004. In addition, she has completed multiple post graduate courses to ensure the most recent and relevant physiotherapy techniques and is a Certified Connect Therapy™© Physiotherapist.

Panda has worked in private practice treating a variety of musculoskeletal conditions initially specializing in sports and spinal injuries. This basis formed an integral part in her success with her role as Hong Kong physiotherapist to elite level athletes at a variety of sporting events including Sydney Olympics 2000, South East Asian Swimming Championships 1999, Watson's Women's Tennis Challenge and Hong Kong Rugby 7's. She has also been team physiotherapist for the Hong Kong 'A' Men's 7' & 15's and Women's 7's rugby teams, and Hong Kong Football Club division 1 men's rugby team.

Over the years, she has developed a special interest in the lumbo-pelvic area and the role of this in relation to other conditions such as knee, hip and lower back pain; re-current muscular strains; and women's health (pre / post-partum). More recently, her interest lies in how the thoracic spine and rib cage; the biomechanics of the feet; and cranio-cervical spine work together with the lumbo-pelvic area to enable pain free movement of the entire musculoskeletal system. Such an approach, based on the Integrated Systems Model™© and Connect Therapy™© has been extremely effective in treating a large spectrum of physical issues and enabling superior athletic performance.

Another area of interest to Panda is the use of real time ultrasound imaging (RTUI) to objectively measure and view the effectiveness of 'core muscle' exercise rehabilitation and imbalances in muscle function in the hip and lower back. In particular, the assessment of rectus abdominus diastasis (for post-partum women, but also men who suffer this condition) and the functional importance of these findings in developing an effective exercise program to ensure optimal movement throughout the body. Panda works closely with her team on developing the most effective treatment protocols.

At PhysioMotion, Panda treats the full spectrum of musculoskeletal conditions from women's health through to elite level athletes looking for improved performance.
