Olivia Catry

Physiotherapist & Pilates Instructor

Olivia is a South African trained Physiotherapist having started her studies initially at the University of Quinnipiac in Connecticut before completing her Bachelor’s Degree in Physiotherapy at the University of Cape Town. She is also a qualified acupuncturist (Hong Kong University Space). During her studies, she gained invaluable experience working with the medical teams at the Cape Town Rugby 7’s, University of Cape Town’s Men’s Division 1 Rugby Team and Cape Argus Cycle Race. Her responsibilities included on field management of elite athletes from acute injuries to prescribing a rehabilitation and fitness program for a full return to sport. Such exposure to high performance athletes and her own sporting pursuits both as a provincial representative for hockey and tennis, developed her keen interest in the specialty of musculoskeletal physiotherapy.

She started her career in a tertiary hospital in rural Kwa-Zulu Natal, South Africa where she worked in a variety of areas including paediatrics, burns, respiratory care, neurology and orthopaedics. Soon after, she moved into private practice where she has remained since pursuing excellence in the treatment of sporting injuries, exercise and fitness training including Pilates based programs, spinal dysfunctions, and post-surgical rehabilitation. She is a highly skilled manual therapist combining the best manipulative techniques and acupuncture to achieve optimal results with patients.  Olivia is also extensively trained in using real time ultrasound to assess muscular dysfunction and weakness for all population groups from elite level athletes to post-partum mothers.
